The Nu-Sonics at Hank's Saloon, Friday Oct. 3, 9 PM

Hello All—we're hitting the stage at Hank's this coming Friday, so I suppose the Vow of Silence is a thing of the past. However, I do to make a hell of a racket. Join us please! I can't wait to hit the stage!

According to James of The James Rocket (the founder of this particular feast of rocks and rolls) "The Nu-Sonics are a shotgun wedding of the ringing hooks of Big Star and the rootsy grit of Neil Young & Crazy Horse, and frontman Alex Sniderman is funnier than you."

Who am I to argue?

Record Release Party @ Mercury Lounge

The Nu-Sonics are celebrating the release of our new album We're Not Happy 'Til You're Not Happy next Friday, January 17 at 9pm at Mercury Lounge in Manhattan. This will be fun! Come join us!

Joining us on the bill is Jeffrey Lewis & The Jrams, featuring the great Heather Wagner on drums. Jeffrey Lewis an extremely talented artist and musician who is able to explain the entire history of communism in about ten minutes with hand drawn visual aids. How the hell are we supposed to compete with that?

Oh yeah, we have a great new record...

I'm immensely proud of We're Not Happy 'Til You're Not Happy and look forward to bashing it all out for the first time in 2014 on the great stage of one of Manhattan's best venues, The Mercury Lounge. Joining me onstage at the Mercury will be two familiar faces, former Nu-Sonics bassist (and recording and mastering engineer) Scott Anthony, and the incomparable Jason Loewenstein (Sebadoh, Fiery Furnaces) on drums. I'm thrilled to be playing with these fantastic musicians, and have no doubt we will make righteous noise! Our erstwhile bassist, the brilliant and talented David Conrad will be out of the country on yet another black-ops mission but will be there in spirit (and on record) if you care to grab a CD.
